WHO WE ARE

Rotary Club of Poipu Beach is a group of more than thirty diverse business professionals. We are all driven by a desire for community service.
The Vacation for Donation opportunity drawing is one of our major fundraisers for the year. Donations go into the Rotary Club of Poipu Beach Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity that funds the scholarships and community service projects of the club.

Service Projects

Throughout the year we organize and conduct service projects focused on youth, education, vocations, and community service. Youth and Education projects include projects such as: After-school activities, Rotary Readers, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Rotary Readers, Dictionary Distribution to 3rd Graders, and other programs at Koloa, Kalaheo, and Eleele schools. Community servce projects include projects such as: Kauai Habitat for Humanity building, Anaina Hou playground building, Prevent Suicide Kauai Walk, Kupuna Kokua project, Keiki Holiday Party, Beach Rescue Tubes, Adopt a Highway, and Movies in the Park.

College Scholarships

Each year we give scholarships to students in the Kauai Community College Culinary, Nursing, and Skilled Trades Programs. We also work with the Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation to award a scholarship to a student for a 4-year college. In addition, we usually host an incoming Rotary Youth Exchange Student from another country to study at a high school on Kauai.  We usually also sponsor a Kauai high school student to study in another country for a year.

Community Grants

We partner with at least 15 other organizations to increase our joint community impact. Each year we provide monetary grants and support for specific projects in other organizations. Programs and organizations we partner with typically focus on: Youth After-School Activities (sports, science, and the arts), youth education, Food, and Environment.
